This class provided knowledge to characterize, analyze, assess and plan, urban systems, primarily those of water and landscape. We explored the nature of built systems in the urban environment, with particular focus on the urban water cycle and green infrastructure.

6100 - City Climate Action - Designing for Delivery

This course presents the leading climate planning and implementation frameworks and technology platforms used by local and regional governments. We developed skills in the following:

Identifying, collecting, analyzing and applying the elements necessary to create a Climate Action Plan
Understanding and applying community-level GHG accounting protocols to the most common sources of local GHG emissions
Learning and practicing basic public sector planning processes

5046 - Global Intensive : Trip to Copenhagen / Berlin

This course is intended to explore the ways in which different countries around the world are approaching the transition to carbon-free, equitable economies and communities, highlighting the urban development and energy strategies, technologies and policies that underlie each country’s approach. This will set the stage for travel to Denmark and Germany to observe first-hand some of the key sustainability planning, policy and technology solutions in play and meet the people and programs behind them.
