City of Boulder Transportation Trainee
May 2026 - Current
I joined the City of Boulder's Transportation and Mobility team as a Transportation Planning Trainee, working primarily with the Transportation Demand Management (TDM) team and partnering with colleagues across a variety of projects.
• Analyzing Close Call Form data from 2021 to present and designing a new routing system so community-submitted issues reach the right departments and get addressed faster.
• Photographed and documented ~80 new and updated Lime corrals and BCycle stations across Boulder to support updates to the city's revocable micromobility permits.
• Designing graphics that explain ongoing projects and new infrastructure improvements to the community.
• Developed public-facing materials for the Goss Grove Pilot Parking Program, including resident profiles and plain-language program explanations written at an 8th-grade reading level.
With Sundance coming to Boulder in 2027, my team and I showed Sundance Executives around Boulder on Lime devices and BCycle bikes to show the power of Micromobility and how our infrastructure is set up to handle it.

One of my jobs 2026 summer was setting up these signs on our bikeways, as a reminder to the community to be safe and courteous of each other.
CDOT Engineer in Training
April 2024 - January 2025
I was hired onto the Materials and Documentation Team where I learned about BABA (Buy America, Build America), Mechanistic Engineering Design, and coding with R.
• Analyzed 64M data points across 24 years of records in R to determine real-world asphalt and concrete lifespans, informing CDOT cost analyses.
• Prepared training for field staff on CDOT documentation for Local Agency/CDOT collaborative projects, improving compliance and efficiency.
• Updated CDOT's steel rod manufacturer regulations and ensured compliance through regular communication and site visits.
One of the projects I was in charge of was reviewing and updating our steel rod manufacturing regulations to be in compliance with our internal expectations, and external regulations like Buy America, Build America (BABA). As a part of this I toured facilities to review their operations in person, confirming compliance visually.

Steel Manufacturing Processes and Regulation
CDOT Spends more than 30% of its annual construction and maintenance budget on pavements needing maintenance and rehabilitation. With this in mind, I was asked to update a study to quantify the different types of asphalt and concrete life spans, and how associated overlays and rehabilitation techniques lasted.

CDOT Office of Process Improvement Intern
February - December 2024
I worked with this department of CDOT for the better part of a year to support an culture of innovation through internal competition, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
• Worked with a team to identify inefficiencies, onboard new employees, and run informational events that supported CDOT's change management and innovation culture.
• Wrote articles and produced videos highlighting employee innovations and their impacts.
• Built onboarding resources and trained interns on software and LEAN principles, and maintained the team website to improve access to resources.
• Planned and hosted an innovations showcase event for CDOT employees to highlight employees best work.
• Took a Prosci course on change management and earned a certificate.
Working on this team really cemented a love for state and local government for me. The passion the staff had for the work they did, and the tireless hours they put in inspired me immensely.
